Reflection

The danger in all this pressure is that the behaviors, language, values, and morals of children today, are reflecting all the pressure that has been put on them by society.

More mature than children in the past. This is perhaps the effect of early start of school and exposure to a lot of things. Have changed from the calm kids to the rough kids. The change in the behaviors of the children is the effect of the modern technology.

In connection with the story “The Girl and the Wolf”, it is parallel to the girl’s behavior concurring nowadays with present children.

As contrasted from the past, children were obedient and respectful. They obeyed their parents and they listened to their elders. They were very respectful and they respected all elders even those whom they only met in the streets. Moreover they are disciplined even if they were not told what to do however often shy and calm. They wanted simple things in life. They didn't ask for things that their parents weren't able to afford. Same is true with “Little Red Riding Hood” as it was thoroughly discussed and portrayed.

It is up for the parents to discipline their children and teach them that not everything they see are good.

We cannot stop the changes that are taking place everyday but we can at least minimize the disadvantages that the modern world is creating in the children.

Teaching them is so essential to them and our future to become:

successful

happy

willing to face life with confidence

Values should be taught like:

self-discipline

honesty to themselves and society

responsible actions

reverence for their lives and that of their neighbors

Teaching children to be on alert for unwanted strangers and potential trouble are also important like:

never accept rides, candy, gifts, money or medicine from strangers

never get too close to a vehicle if a stranger calls out to you for directions or anything else, because it will be easier for a stranger to pull you into the vehicle and cause you harm

never give your name and address to a stranger

never open the door to anyone you do not know

never tell someone who calls on the phone that you are home alone

always avoid strangers who are around the restrooms or the playground and want to play with you or your friends
